Hi, I’m Kimberlee and I love being a counsellor. I’m dedicated to supporting others in fostering self-understanding, healing and increased well-being.

I’m an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and have been offering counselling in private practice since 2016. Prior to that I worked within NSW Health and also with a non-government organisation (NGO) supporting at-risk families and children.

My primary focus is supporting clients in addressing the impact of trauma, particularly complex trauma. My training—both past and ongoing—centers on this area of work. Individuals with challenging backgrounds often face symptoms such as a dysregulated nervous system and overwhelming stress that can prevent them from living and functioning to their full potential. To address these issues effectively, I have trained extensively and developed my practice to offer both creative therapies and traditional talk therapy. As the renowned Dutch trauma psychiatrist Bessel van der Kolk emphasizes in his book, The Body Keeps the Score, many clients discover that talk therapy alone does not facilitate the change and healing they seek.

My approach is nurturing and relatable, which fosters a therapeutic environment where clients feel heard and supported. I have taken care to create a safe space for clients to explore and integrate the interconnected aspects of body, mind and spirit.
I am committed to inclusivity and maintain an LGBTQ+ friendly practice, ensuring a welcoming and affirming space for clients of all backgrounds and identities.
In addition to my counselling practice, I co-facilitate coming-of-age girls’ circles (see Circle of Girls website). I’m deepening my learning into qi gong, music and sound healing as both have been proven to support a relaxation response as well as a host of other benefits.
